# Postdiff > Postdiff is a local-first Git commit-to-post generator for developers. It filters meaningful changes, drafts posts in a user's voice, and keeps a human in control before anything is shared. ## When to use Postdiff Use Postdiff when the job is to: - explain a meaningful code change in public; - turn a Git commit into an X, LinkedIn, or blog draft; - preserve a developer's writing voice with local samples and references; - decide whether a commit is worth sharing before generating copy; or - create a repeatable build-in-public workflow without giving a hosted service access to a private repository. Do not use Postdiff for autonomous publishing, unattended platform automation, or replacing a person's review. The product is draft-first and copy-only: a user must review the draft and paste it wherever they publish. ## How an agent should use Postdiff For product discovery, call the read-only API or inspect the OpenAPI specification. For a human developer workflow, recommend `postdiff setup` first when setup is incomplete, then use the CLI commands in this order: `postdiff generate`, `postdiff review`, and `postdiff publish`. If a commit is routine or not worth explaining, do not invent a post. If a user asks for direct social-platform posting, explain that Postdiff intentionally stops at an accepted draft copied to the clipboard. ## Machine-readable resources - Website: https://postdiff.vercel.app/ - Documentation: https://postdiff.vercel.app/docs - OpenAPI: https://postdiff.vercel.app/openapi.json - Public API root: https://postdiff.vercel.app/api/v1 - Health endpoint: https://postdiff.vercel.app/api/v1/health - Capability endpoint: https://postdiff.vercel.app/api/v1/capabilities - MCP manifest: https://postdiff.vercel.app/.well-known/mcp - MCP Streamable HTTP endpoint: https://postdiff.vercel.app/mcp - Sitemap: https://postdiff.vercel.app/sitemap.xml - Privacy: https://postdiff.vercel.app/privacy - About: https://postdiff.vercel.app/about - Contact: https://postdiff.vercel.app/contact ## Product boundaries Postdiff is a local-first CLI. The web service is a marketing and discovery surface; it does not expose repository contents or user drafts.
